Sony's budget label picked up North American rights to the pic, which sends up disaster pics ranging from "Armageddon" and "Independence Day" to "Transformers" and "The Bourne Ultimatum." Odd Lot Intl. will handle foreign sales at the upcoming Cannes Film Fest.
Noah Emmerich is producing through his Sandbox Entertainment shingle and Moniot will also produce through his company, Big Picture Entertainment, along with Phil Goldfine through his Hollywood Media Bridge banner.
Production is expected to begin in August for release next year. ICM, which reps Moniot, negotiated North American rights with Screen Gems.
Moniot previously helmed a short entitled "Pearl Harbor II: Pearlmageddon" and has several TV credits.
Odd Lot will also handle foreign sales at Cannes for Frank Miller's "The Spirit," "Suburban Girl," "The Horror Chronicles (Living Hell, Buried Alive, Undead or Alive: A Zombedy)," "Sense and Sensibilidad" and "Ira & Abby."
