Lionsgate finds 'Love'

Knightley, Miller, Murphy star in Maybury film

LONDON -- Lionsgate has acquired U.K. and Australian rights to John Maybury's "The Edge of Love" (formerly "The Best Time of Our Lives"), starring Keira Knightley.

Pic, which started shooting this week, is based on the true story of the tangled love life of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Scripted by Knightley's mother Sharman Macdonald, it also stars Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys and Cillian Murphy.

Capitol Films is handling worldwide sales on the project, which is co-financed by BBC Films, the Welsh Creative IP Fund and Prescience Film Finance.

Capitol's co-managing director Nick Hill said, "We approach this year's Cannes with presales in place with many of the world's leading independent distributors, and we expect to conclude deals in the few remaining territories during the market."

"The Edge of Love" is produced by Rebekah Gilbertson and Sarah Radclyffe.
