Studio specialty arm picked up the project based on Landon's pitch.
Set in contemporary times, story revolves around three teens accused of practicing witchcraft. Girls endure terrifying consequences as a result of the ensuing hysteria and scapegoating.
Blum is producer. Steven Schneider is exec producing.
Landon penned "Disturbia" with Carl Ellsworth based on a story by Landon. The DreamWorks thriller has done strong business at the box office, earning $60.1 million and holding the No. 1 spot for three weeks until it was bumped by "Spider-Man 3."
Landon's past writing credits include "Another Day in Paradise."
Projects set up at Blumhouse include a feature based on the life of Mafia hitman Richard "Ice Man" Kuklinski and "The Zero," another Warner Independent project.
Upcoming Warner Independent releases include environmental docu "The 11th Hour," produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, "Rails & Ties" and "In the Valley of Elah."
