Modine will play Sullivan, a real estate developer building a development adjacent to the skein's fictional town of Agrestic. The development is being funded by a church.
Both Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) and Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) will have romantic hook-ups with Modine's character. Nancy will also end up getting a job working for him.
Modine's recent TV credits include "Into the West" and "Bedford Diaries." On the feature front, he appeared last year in "Kettle of Fish" and in 2005's "The Transporter 2."
"Weeds" will return for its third season this summer.
