Sci Fi orders more 'Doctor'

Channel picks up season three rights

NBC U-owned Sci Fi Channel has picked up season three rights to the new version of "Doctor Who."

New batch of episodes will bow in July, starting with "The Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Runaway Bride," starring Catherine Tate.

Second season of "Who" was a solid performer for Sci Fi, attracting more than 1 million viewers each week. Skein is a co-production of the BBC and CBC.

Deal for "Who" was struck by BBC Worldwide Americas. Series now airs in more than 30 countries.
