'Bones' boosts online profile

Sound Bites

Fox's crime drama "Bones" has launched a companion online world that parallels the characters in an upcoming episode. If "Bones" had its own MySpace page, it might look a bit like this:

About me: I'm the Fox TV show "Bones," and I'm uploading 18 of these MySpace profiles to promote my May 9 ep, including personal blogs, photos and videos that offer insight into the show's storyline.

Who I'd like to meet: "Bones" fans and new viewers, who will hopefully follow the clues via Fox.com to figure out the episode's victim and murder suspect.

Status: Online, as of April 4, on Fox.com.

My friends: Exec producer Stephen Nathan, who wrote the episode; Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, whose characters are called when Homeland Security finds radioactive remains. And, they hope, several million viewers.
