Born in New York, Zaccaro started acting on TV during the 1960s, appearing in shows including "Maverick," "The Untouchables," "Burke's Law," "My Favorite Martian," "Ben Casey," "Hawaiian Eye" and "Gunsmoke." He also appeared in feature films "West Side Story," "The Thomas Crown Affair" "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World," "Ben Hur," "Cornbread Earl and Me" and "The Other Side of the Mountain."
Zaccaro was also an entrepreneur who introduced urethane foam padding to the carpet industry, co-developed the solar blanket for swimming pools and authored "Climb Your Own Mountain: The Ultimate Success Guide."
In 1992, he acquired the John Muir Medical Film Festival, renaming it The International Health and Medical Film Festival, which gives the Freddie award.
He is survived by two daughters; a sister and three brothers.
