Bryant gets 'The Better Man'

Comedy also features Jones, Cedric

James Earl Jones, Cedric the Entertainer and Joy Bryant have joined Martin Lawrence in U's "The Better Man."

Bryant has the femme lead role as Lawrence's high-maintenance galpal, a former "Survivor" contestant who accompanies the talk show star to visit his family in a Southern home town. Jones plays his dad and Cedric the Entertainer landed the role as Lawrence's childhood rival.

Production just began on the comedy, which also stars Louis C.K.

Malcolm D. Lee is directing and Scott Stuber and Mary Parent are producing via their U-based Stuber/Parent banner.
