Telluride taps Huntsinger

She will handle festival business, policy

The Telluride Film Festival has tapped Julie Huntsinger as managing director to develop and manage all aspects of the festival's business administration including budget, corporate accounting, legal affairs and personnel.

She'll also handle festival policy alongside co-directors Tom Luddy and Gary Meyer.

Huntsinger began in the film business in 1993 when she joined American Zoetrope, where she worked as Luddy's assistant. She later worked on "Vertical Limit," "Beyond Borders" and "Racing Stripes" and was an associate producer on "P.S. I Love You," starring Hilary Swank.

"I have always been impressed with Julie's ability to look at the big picture and make sure things go smoothly. She's on top of every detail and keeps her cool in the most stressful situations," Luddy said.

This year's festival runs  from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3.
