Disney nabs 'Liars' story from pair

"Kim Possible" creators Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, who wrote "Liar of Kudzu" in their spare time, are now adapting their book for the small screen.
"It was an idea we had and just wrote for fun, which is unusual when you're working on a full-time job," McCorkle said. "It was exciting to do something outside the system and more from the gut."
"Liar of Kudzu" revolves around a Southern kid who goes by the name Liar. His world is thrown upside down when a new girl moves to town, and at the same time he discovers a strange spacecraft that has crashed in the woods.
"It's a Southern-gothic-science fiction-teen-comedy with a romance," Schooley said. "It was a coming together of a few different things that I'd been thinking about."
Simon & Schuster released "Liar of Kudzu" earlier this month.
Schooley and McCorkle are working on the fourth season of "Kim Possible" for Disney Channel. The duo's other credits include "Sky High."
On the TV side, prior to "Kim Possible" the scribes worked on a host of TV series that were spinoffs of popular Disney franchises, including "Aladdin" and "Hercules."
