The $65 million production would be the sixth permanent Cirque show on the Las Vegas Strip and marks the first time Cirque du Soleil will feature a star performer.
Collaborative effort aims to fuse Angel's edgy illusions with the artistry of about 20 Cirque acrobats, dancers, and puppeteers. $65 million cost covers renovations to the Luxor Theater and the show itself.
The creative team includes director Serge Denoncourt, director of creation Pierre Phaneuf, set designer Ray Winkler and costume designer Eiko Ishioka, choreographer Daniel Ezralow and props and puppet designer Michael Curry. Angel will design the illusions.
Show is skedded to run 10 perfs a week. Ticket prices have not yet been disclosed.
