Cast set for 'Multiple Sarcasms'

Five sign on for Branch drama

Timothy Hutton, Mira Sorvino, Dana Delany, Stockard Channing and Mario Van Peebles will star in ensemble drama "Multiple Sarcasms," set in New York City circa 1979 and produced and directed by Brooks Branch.

Project will mark the first writing and directing experience for Branch, who is taking time off from his company, Creative Branding Group, to produce. Chris Bongirne is also producing, with Patrice Auld, Martha Moseley and Keith Grinstein exec producing.

Script, co-penned by Linda Morris, follows a man stumbling through a series of midlife missteps and deciding to write a play based on his relationships with the women in his life. Just as the play becomes wildly successful, his real life collapses.

Branch previously served as head of the creative division of licensing for Paramount, working on "Mission: Impossible," "Forrest Gump" and "Wayne's World." He's also worked on branding campaigns for NBC, VH1, Target, Pepsi, Hermes, Virgin, MGM and Warner Bros.

The $2.5 million film is financed by Seattle-area investors. Lensing will take place in New York.
