Carpinello added to 'Xanadu'

Musical begins previews on May 23

James Carpinello rounds out principal casting of the new legit adaptation of 1980 roller-disco pic "Xanadu."

Carpinello will play a frustrated artist who is inspired by a muse to build a roller disco.

Cast also includes Kerry Butler (as the muse), Tony Roberts, Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa. Christopher Ashley-helmed musical, with new book by Douglas Carter Beane ("The Little Dog Laughed"), begins previews May 23.
