Inarritu had been a longtime client of Endeavor and McTeigue was repped by ICM.
Losing Inarritu is a blow to the momentum Endeavor has been gaining, and it comes right after Reese Witherspoon left for CAA. It's a coup for CAA because the director has become a magnet for movie stars since he made his feature directing debut in 2000 with "Amores Perros."
Word is that Inarritu never felt the same after his longtime agent John Lesher left to run Paramount Vantage, which distributed "Babel" in the U.S. That left an opening for CAA, which courted the director assiduously.
McTeigue, meanwhile, left ICM after he hadn't yet booked a follow-up project to "V for Vendetta." That film was produced by his mentors, "Matrix" directors Larry and Andy Wachowski. McTeigue recently did some un-credited work on "The Invasion."
