BERLIN -- The 14th MTV Europe Music Awards will be held Nov. 1 in Munich, marking the third time the show will have taken place in Germany since the ceremony premiered in Berlin in 1994.

This year's show will employ a multiscreen concept, allowing viewers to tune in via a variety of platforms, according to Richard Godfrey, senior VP of content and music at MTV Networks Intl. and exec producer of the European Music Awards.

Last year, the awards show was seen live by more than 1.4 billion people in 179 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In addition to 56 TV stations, MTV also controls 47 Web sites, 19 broadband outlets and 17 mobile TV channels.
