U has made a preemptive buy on a contempo thriller pitch by scribe Daniel Noah for Bobker/Kruger to produce.

Daniel Bobker and Ehren Kruger will produce the high-concept crime drama for the U-based shingle, which is currently prepping ghost thriller "Dream House" for lensing later this year.

Noah received low six figures to pen the script.

U and producers are keeping mum on the details about the story, which the scribe would only describe as a blend of genre movie elements with a character-driven drama.

"This is chance to do something I've been wanting to do for a very long time," Noah said.

Scribe wrote and directed the low-budget indie "Twelve" for Ira Deutchman in 2001. He also has a couple TV credits under his belt, including the pilot for the CW's "Jumper," an hourlong drama about an FBI agent who jumps into the body of someone who's about to be murdered, as well as "Hindsight," an apocalyptic drama at NBC.

Bobker previously produced "The Skeleton Key," which Kruger scripted, for U. Kruger also wrote "The Ring" and "Arlington Road."
