LONDON — Blighty's Channel 4 is revamping its commissioning structure as it promotes program topper Kevin Lygo and lures back one of its senior executives for a key new role.
Lygo, linked to a possible defection to rival U.K. terrestrial web, ITV, takes on the new title of director of television and content.
In the role Lygo will extend his power to include new media and responsibility for developing the schedules for any new C4 digital weblets and other brand extensions the broadcaster may launch in the future.
Meanwhile the former-head of spin-off web E4, Julian Bellamy, poached by the BBC around 18 months ago to run BBC3, is returning in the newly created position of program head, Channel 4.
