A memorial will be held Sunday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at Pierce Bros. Westwood Village, 1218 Glendon Ave., Los Angeles.
Her casting career in television and features spanned over 40 years, both as a casting director and as an executive.
She was born and raised in Chicago and graduated UCLA. Starting in the entertainment business as casting assistant, she was first credited as a casting director on "The Outer Limits" in 1964.
She worked on the CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless" from 1996 to 2000. Her other TV credits include include "Lucky/Chances," the 1990 Jackie Collins mini-series; "ALF," "Crazy Like A Fox," "Fantasy Island," "Hart to Hart," "Lou Grant," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "T.J. Hooker" and "WKRP."
In the mid-1980s, she served as VP of talent and casting for Columbia Pictures Television, and before than, was executive in charge of talent and casting for MTM Productions.
Her feature casting credits include "He's My Girl" and "Tremors II." She was a principal in O'Loughlin/Dockstader Casting and VP of talent for Vineland Pictures, as well as a casting consultant for Imagine Films.
O'Loughlin was active in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, where she served several terms as a governor of the casting peer group. She was also a founding member of the Casting Society of America, and in 1997 and 1999, she was nominated for an Artios Award by her peers at CSA for her work on "Young and the Restless." She was formerly married to actor Gerald O'Loughlin.
Meryl is survived by a son, a daughter, a grandson and a sister.
