Like "The Da Vinci Code," James Cameron's "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" is drawing sharp criticism from conservative groups claiming the film is an attack on Christianity and demanding the Discovery Channel pull it before Sunday's preem.

Produced by Cameron and written and directed Simcha Jacobovici, "Tomb" presents physical evidence found in a 2,000-year-old tomb in the Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem that once may have held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth, Mary Magdalene and possibly a son named Judah.

"It's time the Discovery Channel discovered ethics and stopped with the sensationalism," said Catholic League president Bill Donohue.

Media Research Center called the doc "bigoted fiction."

"If the Discovery Channel fails to cancel this slanderous documentary, it will have to explain why it is intentionally misleading the public," said Brent Bozell, prexy of the Media Research Center. "They should be embarrassed by this plunge into sensational speculation masquerading as science.

"The Discovery Channel will have dug its own grave if it doesn't pull this documentary."

A spokesman from the Discovery Channel said the channel has never pulled a film because of protest and will not pull "Tomb."
