LONDON — More departures are in the pipeline from the commissioning team at Five, the U.K. terrestrial web in the midst of restructuring its programming arm.
Ben Frow, controller of features and entertainment, and Sham Sandhu, controller of special events and pop features, will quit the station within the next few weeks.
Frow's appointment at Five in 2003 was greeted with high expectations but the former head of features at Channel 4 has failed to make the same impact at Five.
His and Sandhu's departures coincide with the recent news that new managing director of content, Lisa Opie, is restructuring the commissioning team at Five, owned by European media giant RTL.
Opie, who needs to boost Five's popularity, has started the hunt for a new director of programs to replace Dan Chambers, who left suddenly last October.
Those linked to the job include ex-Five acquisitions topper Jeff Ford, now at Channel 4, and Claudia Rosencrantz, the former ITV entertainment commissioner turned channel controller at Living TV.
