"Hollywood Boot Camp" sees eight contestants from the Philippines live together in one house in Los Angeles for a month during which they are set tasks that include screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, production design and acting. Action takes place entirely in L.A. in April, during the location shooting of Bigfoot's forthcoming horror pic "Midnight Movie."
They compete for a $10,000 cash prize or a $20,000 film development course that includes use of Bigfoot's Philippines studios and film school in Mactan, Cebu.
"Hollywood Boot Camp" will be an eight-episode series, presented by model Rebecca Piket, that Bigfoot will package and license internationally.
Founded by investor Michael Gleissner, Bigfoot is a vertically integrated mini-conglom with bases in Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles. Credits include AIDS drama "Three Needles," starring Lucy Liu; starring comedy drama "Shanghai Kiss," starring Kelly Hu; and upcoming thriller "Irreversi," starring Estella Warren and helmed by Gleissner himself.
