Warner Bros. has made a seven-figure deal for screen rights to Ann Brashares' upcoming novel "The Last Summer (of You and Me)."
Denise Di Novi will produce. Brashares will be an exec producer.
Deal puts Brashares back in business with the studio and Di Novi, who previously made a film from her young adult novel "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."
Book, her first targeted to adult readers, is set on Fire Island on Long Island's South Shore, where a beach-community triangle develops between two sisters and a young man.Riverhead will publish the novel June 5.
Di Novi is in pre-production on "Nights in Rodanthe," a Warner Bros./Village Roadshow Pictures adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks romance novel.
