Spy satire "Blowback" by film and TV writer Rupert Walters, whose previous credits include the popular spy drama "MI-5," picked up the lion's share of the funds, receiving £62,500 (£122,000).
Paul Webster and Stephen Garrett's indie outfit Kudos Film and TV is producing the pic.
Other awardees included writers Sam Walker and Rob Morgan's Vertigo Films produced, horror pic "Bad Dog," in which a man is kidnapped by a family of French maniacs and used as the family dog. Pic won £13,800 ($26,800).
"Hero Trip," the debut feature script from "Green Wing" and "Smack the Pony" comedy writer James Henry, received £17,500 ($34,200). The innovative tale revolves around an all-American superhero's road trip with his archenemy The Annihilator.
"Fizzle," a new family animation series about a tomboy fairy being developed by kids entertainment producer Cosgrove Hall, picked up £21,000 ($40,900).
The Development Fund, which currently has £12 million ($23.4 million) to spend over three years, backs upcoming talent as well as experienced filmmakers.
Previous pics to have received support include Anand Tucker's "When Did You Last See Your Father?" and Andrea Arnold's "Red Road."
