Matsuoka joined the company in 1957 and was named president in 1977. He has held his current post since 1995. Under his leadership, Toho has established itself as Japan's top film production, distribution and exhibition company.
Since it was established in 1932, Toho has been responsible for pics such as "Seven Samurai" and "Yojimbo," as well as the "Godzilla" films. Matsuoka will receive the honor at the Intl. Day Luncheon on March 12. ShoWest takes place March 12-15 at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.
