She'll report directly to King, prexy-CEO of the company, and will team with VP of development Grey Rembert and production exec Denis O'Sullivan.
Lyon was the sole producer on Buena Vista Pictures' teen hit "Stick It." Previously, she was prexy of Red Wagon Entertainment, where she oversaw development and served as exec producer on "Stuart Little 2," "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" and "Peter Pan." She also set up "Jarhead" as well as "RV."
Prior to Red Wagon, Lyon was prexy of Jersey Films, where she was involved in the development of "Out of Sight," exec produced the HBO movie "Pentagon Wars" and co-produced "Gattaca" and "Erin Brockovich."
She began her career as VP of development at Silver Pictures, followed by a stint as a studio exec for Walt Disney's Disney and Hollywood labels.
Initial, which is based at Warner Bros., most recently produced "The Departed" and "Blood Diamond." Up next on King's slate are "Shantaram," produced with Johnny Depp, who'll also star; and "Sasha's Story: The Life and Death of a Russian Spy," also produced with Depp's Infinitum Nihil production shingle.
