Brit Awards honor Killers, Monkeys

Muse, Take That, Fratellis pick up trophies

LONDON -- The Arctic Monkeys and the Killers picked up two trophies each at the Brit Awards Wednesday, as rising homegrown star Amy Winehouse stole the show.

The Killers, out of Las Vegas, took home the international group and international album ("Sam's Town") nods while Arctic Monkeys were named top Brit group and won the Mastercard British Album award for "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not."

Take That's "Patience" earned British single honors, Muse secured the Brit live act award and the Fratellis were named British breakthrough act. Oasis was handed the outstanding contribution to music award.

International solo prizes went to Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furato while Orson was named the year's breakthrough act.

Winehouse gave the performance of the evening with her single "Rehab" and picked up the British female award. James Morrison was nambed Brit male.

Other acts that performed were Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Killers, Take That and Corinne Bailey Rae. Oasis performed three songs: "Cigarettes And Alcohol," "Meaning Of Soul" and "Morning Glory."
