Goldwyn gets Forman's 'Goya'

Portman, Skarsgard to star in 'Ghosts'

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights for Milos Forman's "Goya's Ghosts," starring Javier Bardem, Natalie Portman and Stellan Skarsgard.

Biopic of the Spanish artist, with a screenplay by Forman and Jean-Claude Carriere, is produced by Saul Zaentz and set for domestic release in the summer.

Story centers on a member of the powerful Spanish clergy, portrayed by Bardem, who becomes infatuated with Francisco Goya's teenage muse, played by Portman.

Forman and Zaentz collaborated on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Amadeus," winning Oscars on both for directing and producing, respectively. Zaentz also won an Oscar for "The English Patient."
