BERLIN — Distribs in Berlin will get their first glimpse of Gus Van Sant's "Paranoid Park" at a promo reel screening Sunday.

French mini-major MK2 is showing a four-minute reel of the $5.5 million pic, based on Black Nelson's coming of age tale about a teenage skateboarder who accidentally kills a security guard.

It stars new teen talent Gabe Nevins in the lead role alongside Jake Miller, Taylor Momsen, Lauren McKinney and Daniel Lui.

MK2 has released three Van Sant films theatrically in France and had been discussing making a film with him when the book adaptation came up less than a year ago, Karmitz said.

Pic already has sold to distributors in Europe, including Italy's Lucky Red, Cineart for the Benelux countries, as well as to Russia and Scandinavia.
