Legit vet Griffin dies

Actor appeared in several B'way shows

Dancer, singer and actor Victor Griffin died Feb. 3 in Syosset, NY. He was 88.

Born in Pittsburgh, Penn., Griffin appeared in several Broadway productions, including the 1971 original Broadway production of "Follies," in which he played Vincent; and the 1978 production of "Ballroom," in which he played Harry the Noodle.

Also on Broadway, he appeared in the 1941 musical "High Kickers" and the 1942 revue "Count Me In," as well as the "Ziegfeld Follies of 1943" and in "Amadeus" in 1983. He also served as assistant choreographer on 1958's "Oh Captain!"

On film, he appeared in "Annie" in 1982, and on TV, he appeared on PBS' "Big Blonde," "Night of 100 Stars II" and was a featured singer and solo tap dancer on "Sing Along with Mitch."
