NBC Universal has cemented and expanded its deal with Ben Silverman, the producer behind Peacock hits "The Office" and "The Biggest Loser."
New two-year pact gives the NBC U TV Group first dibs on all scripted and unscripted projects from Silverman's Reveille production banner. Pact takes Reveille's current deal with the NBC network and expands it to include all of the conglom's cable holdings, such as Bravo, USA and Sci Fi.
In addition, NBC U will have first look at any foreign properties acquired by Reveille.
Peacock announced the deal late Monday, just hours ahead of Jeff Zucker's expected elevation to chief exec of NBC U. Silverman pact is expected to be Zucker's last big deal as head of the TV group.
"We are excited about the variety of possibilities that this newest collaboration will bring for NBC, Sci Fi, Bravo and the USA Network," Zucker said.
Silverman said Reveille has flourished during its association with NBC, adding the conglom "is the perfect outlet for our edgy but accessible content.
"We can't wait to find the next hit series for them," he said.
New agreement follows a spectacularly successful network development season for Reveille, which has three pilots at the Peacock: "Kath & Kim," "I'm With Stupid" and "Zip."
In addition to "The Office" and "The Biggest Loser," Reveille also produces NBC quizzer "Identity" and USA Network reality skein "Nashville Star."
In addition, Reveille is behind ABC's "Ugly Betty," FX's "30 Days" and Sundance Channel's "House of Boateng."
