Barab tops American World

Exec to handle int'l production, distribution

Martin Barab, who recently left his post running production for Bauer Martinez, has been named prexy of international production and distribution at American World Pictures.

Barab will build the financing capabilities of American World Pictures and acquire and co-produce a slate of higher-profile feature films for domestic theatrical distribution.

He'll work closely with AWP chairman Mark Lester and production prexy Dana Dubovsky.

Barab was most recently president of Lucky 50 Prods., the production arm of Bauer Martinez Studio. Previously, he was prexy and general counsel for Bauer Martinez Distribution.

Before joining Bauer Martinez, Barab ran an entertainment law firm in Beverly Hills, repping distribution companies including Nu Image, Millennium, Moonstone and Crystal Sky, as well as many independent producers.
