The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences will kick off Oscar week with a presentation of "Shorts!," a program featuring the 10 nominated films in the animated and live-action short categories.
Taylor Hackford will host the evening, which will also feature onstage discussions with the nominated filmmakers.
"Shorts!" will screen at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Free advance tickets will be available Feb. 1 at the Academy's ticket office, 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills; there's a limit of two tickets per person.
The 79th Academy Awards will be held Feb. 25 at the Kodak Theater and broadcast live on ABC.
