Networks pick up TV pilots

CBS nabs '22,' Fox has 'Cure'

CBS pilot pickup - "22 Birthdays," a comedic drama about wealthy Angelenos who are parents of the first-grade class at an exclusive private school -- and gather virtually every week for their children's birthday parties. Project was redeveloped from last year (Daily Variety, Oct. 25). Peter Noah, Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein wrote and exec produce the project, while Dutch Oven's Doug Liman and Dave Bartis will also exec produce. NBC Universal TV Studio is producing.

Fox pilot pickup - "The Cure," an hourlong drama about a group that works its way through medical bureaucracy in order to treat patients. Patrick Massett and John Zinman wrote the project and will exec produce, along with Akiva Goldsmith. Brittany Lovett and Stephanie Koff are co-exec producers. Warner Bros. TV is producing; Goldsmith's Weed Road Pictures is also attached.

NBC pilot pickup - "The Mastersons of Manhattan," a comedic sudser about two well-off sisters in New York. Gary Janetti wrote the pilot and will exec produce; NBC Universal TV Studio is behind the project.
