Posner rolls out YaYa! Films

Production slate includes 3D animation 'Lynx'

MADRID — Enrique Posner, the former general manager at Warner Bros. Pictures Intl. Espana, has launched his own production shingle, YaYa! Films.

The Madrid-based outfit will focus "on a limited number of projects that I care deeply about and that have market potential," said Posner.

Many of the projects will be co-produced with Posner's partners in new Spanish sales company 6 Sales, Marina Fuentes' Galba Prods. and Perro Verde Films, headed by Manuel Cristobal and Ruben Zarauza.

They also play off Posner's long experience in international filmmaking, first handling international affairs at Pedro and Agustin Almodovar's El Deseo, from 1988 to 1992, and then at his own shingle Filmania, from 1992 to 1996.

First up for YaYa! is the around-$10 million 3D toon pic, "The Missing Lynx," about animals fleeing from a batty billionaire who's constructing a doomsday Noah's Ark.

Posner will take an executive producer credit on the film, which is already in production and co-produced with Perro Verde and the Granada-based Kandor Graphics.

"Lynx" is co-directed by Spain's Manuel Sicilia and Raul Garcia, who has Hollywood experience, having worked as an animator on "The Lion King" and as a sequence director on "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius."

Posner also is teaming with Galba and Alicia Touche's London-based Sandia Films on a high-concept romantic comedy, provisionally entitled "How To," about a woman who writes a supposedly anonymous guide to happy and healthy marital infidelity. Pic is being written by Paula Edwards.

Rounding up YaYa!'s initial slate is an untitled musical, turning on an aspiring Spanish singer who travels to the U.K. as an apprentice caterer.

Pic is designed as a vehicle for up-and-coming Spanish musical star Cristina Llorente. It is will be directed by Javier Munoz, co-owner of legit company Jana Producciones, in which Posner has taken a stake.
