Jackson moves to 'Terrace' film

Lassiter, Smith will produce thriller

Screen Gems has set Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington to star in "Lakeview Terrace," a thriller that will begin production in May. Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and Will Smith will produce.

An interracial couple moves into a new home, but the dream house turns into a nightmare when they are taunted by their next-door neighbor, a tightly wound, racist LAPD officer.

The script was written by David Loughery, who will be exec producer along with Jeff Graup.

Sony-based Overbrook just produced "The Pursuit of Happyness," and is prepping "Tonight, He Comes," the Peter Berg-directed picture for Columbia that will star Smith and Charlize Theron. Smith and Lassiter produce with Michael Mann and Akiva Goldsman.

Screen Gems, which just released the hit "Stomp the Yard," will finalize a director and the third lead shortly.
