Nod will be presented at the 44th Annual Publicists Awards Feb. 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Barker's being recognized for the 50 consecutive years he has spent as a gameshow host on national television. He recently announced that he will retire from CBS' "The Price Is Right" in June.
"Throughout his career, Bob has recognized the importance of creating awareness for the shows he's hosted as well the many causes he supports," said awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger. "His efforts to bring attention to the exploitation of animals in entertainment and commerce has had a great impact nationally and internationally."
Barker has received 17 Emmys, including a lifetime achievement award, more than any other performer. In 2004, he was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
