McGregor, Griffiths slip into 'Jackboots'

WW2 comedy spoof uses action figures as puppets

Ewan McGregor and Richard Griffiths have joined the voice cast of "Jackboots on Whitehall," a WW2 comedy spoof using action figures to imagine what would have happened if the Germans had won the Battle of Britain.

McGregor will voice the lead as a heroic Scottish farmhand who leads the resistance and wins the girl (Rosamund Pike). Griffiths, who won a BAFTA nomination last week, will play Luftwaffe leader Hermann Goering.

Pic is the feature debut of director Edward McHenry, who co-wrote the script with his brother Rory. It's produced by Frank Mannion, co-produced by Jamie English and exec produced by casting agent Debbie McWilliams.

Other voices cast already announced include Richard E. Grant, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Spall as Churchill and Alan Cumming as Hitler.
