"The Sopranos" returns for the second half of its sixth season with one more episode than expected. Creator David Chase produced nine segs of the show's final stretch, rather than the eight that had been ordered.
"The Sopranos" will return to its normal timeslot, 9 p.m., followed by the spring premiere of "Entourage," back for the second half of its third season. "Entourage" will continue on Sundays at 10 p.m.
Also, HBO is close to announcing its tentative plans for the end of "Sopranos." Immediately following the show's finale (which Chase is writing and directing), the pay cabler is expected to launch new skein "John From Cincinnati."
Quirky drama, from David Milch, will preempt "Entourage," possibly for two weeks, as "The Sopranos" is utilized to help launch the surfer series.
