Aiello, who has been with Star since June, was in charge of overseeing corporate functions and developing the company's strategies and direction.
Before joining Star, Aiello was with Morgan Stanley, where he headed its telecom, media and technology group in the Asia-Pacific region and counted Star a client.
"Michelle has overseen an important stage of growth at Star, as it fortified its position as Asia's leading media company," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman-CEO.
