Filming is set to begin in May, when Huffman is on hiatus from "Desperate Housewives."
The 1995 Channel 4 mini concerned an MP's wife who responds to her husband's infidelity in unexpected ways. Nicholas Meyer did the adaptation.
Picturehouse topped Bob Berney said Meyer's screenplay is filled with "intrigue and sexual politics."
Two-year-old Picturehouse, the joint venture of HBO and New Line, has "Pan's Labyrinth" in release. Upcoming films include "Starter for 10," "La Vie en rose" and "Silk."
