STOCKHOLM — Norway's leading commercial television net, TV 2, has launched the country's first totally live online TV service.
The new service, called TV 2 Sumo, launched Dec. 22. Norwegian viewers are now able to watch all of TV 2's channels live online, including TV 2, TV 2 Zebra and the TV 2 Film Channel. Sumo strengthens TV 2's position as the leading provider of video-on-demand and web-TV services in Norway.
The live channels can only be viewed from within Norway while on-demand content can be viewed from anywhere in the world. Sumo is a subscription service.
Next, TV2 will make its new 24-hour news channel, Nyhetskanalen, available online. Nyhetskanalen is due to launch Jan. 15.
