Longtime rocker Rod Stewart was given Commander of the Order of the British Empire status by Queen Elizabeth. He will officially be presented with the honor sometime this year.
Stewart, 61, has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, and has 24 top-10 singles in the United Kingdom.
"Although I'm living in California, I'm very proud to be British," he said.
Also, Hugh Laurie, star of Fox's series "House," is receiving an Order of the British Empire. He has been a U.K. TV staple for years, including roles on "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and "Blackadder."
