Slated for a fall launch, "Judge David Young" has cleared most major markets, bringing the total tally to an impressive 75% for the 2007-08 season.
Sony Pictures Television, which produces "Judge Hatchett" and "Judge Maria Lopez," will make it a legal threesome with "Judge David Young."
The latest to join the afternoon robe-and-gavel set, Judge Young won notoriety in 2002 for sentencing a pair of intoxicated America West pilots to jail. Since then, Young has consistently made headlines. He once sentenced an 87-year-old woman to 30 years in jail for murder because, he said, she showed no remorse. In another case, the judge dismissed disorderly conduct charges against an opera singer after she agreed to sing in court.
Judge Young will step down from his bench on the Circuit Court of Miami-Dade County.
