McGuire returns to TV as quizshow host

Nine topper was previously the host of 'Millionaire,' 'Footy Show'

SYDNEY -- Nine topper Eddie McGuire is expected to return to the small screen as host of the Aussie version of quizzer "1 vs 100."

McGuire, one of the nation's most popular on air talents when he took the chief exec role at Nine, was previously the host of "The Footy Show" and boffo hit "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

 The move is unexpected as Nine has been fighting off a stiff challenge from rival web Seven and McGuire was expected to devote his time to saving Nine's aud, but his on air- popularity may prove to do just that.

"1 vs 100" pits one contestant against an opposing audience of 100 for a chance to win A$1 million ($788 million) and is produed by Endemol Southern Star.
