'Dreamgirls' a holiday treat

"Dreamgirls" may have been late to the holiday party, hittiing threaters on Monday instead of ahead of the holiday weekend, but the Paramount-DreamWorks musical showed plenty of kick, taking in $8.7 million in a single day and landing in the box office top 10. Meanwhile, Fox's PG-rated family comedy "Night at the Museum" hauled in $43.2 million over the four-day Christmas frame to easily dominate domestic box office and leave any competition in the dust.
