Contestants stay together for 16 weeks in a boot camp, which producers Endemol South Africa said allows them to film the competitors in more depth, thus more clearly showing their personalities and the increasing tension.
The first season in 2005 was one of the channel's top five performers, with average viewership of about 2 million.
