Farina plays a down-on-his-luck grocery store proprietor and onetime bagging champ who mentors an underdog teen. Mort Nathan ("Kingpin"), who rewrote Hans Rodionoff's script, will direct.
Also cast are Paul Campbell, Marika Dominczyk, Robert Hoffman, Josh Dean, Nick Lashaway, Wesley Jonathan, Larry Miller, Lisa Darr and Bruce Altman.
National Lampoon has partnered on the project with Conundrum Entertainment, the Farrelly Brothers' production company. Rob Moran and Zen Gesner are producing with Jefferson Richard and Barry Layne; National Lampoon prexy Bruce Long exec produces.
"Bagboy" is the first inhouse feature production for National Lampoon, which is moving into producing its own fully financed comedies. Company's been involved in more than two dozen pics starting with 1978's "Animal House," usually through licensing.
