Nintendo replaces Wii strap

Original version prone to breaking

Nintendo has agreed to exchange 3.2 million straps used for the game controller of its new Wii console after fielding complaints that the device was falling out of people's hands.

The controller is used as a simulated golf club, tennis racket or sword when playing the game. When players get excited and move their arms around while playing, the strap was breaking.

It will be replaced by a thicker and more durable strap. Customers can exchange the straps through their local Nintendo service centers.
