Baena to write 'Awakening' for bigscreen

WB hires writer for 'Jean-Luc'

Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Jeff Baena to pen battle-of-the-sexes comedy "The Awakening of Jean-Luc Barbara" and set it up with Tapestry Films to produce.

Laffer is commercial director Justin Reardon's feature directorial debut.

Studio is keeping details of the storyline under wraps.

Producers are Tapestry principals Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams and Robert L. Levy. Michael Schreiber, also with Tapestry, will co-produce.

Baena co-wrote "I Heart Huckabees" with David O. Russell.

Tapestry ("Wedding Crashers") produced Fox Atomic's "The Comebacks," set for a March release.
