Prince paints Super Bowl purple

Musician set for halftime

With little chance that he'll be bearing his breast, Prince will perform at halftime at the Super Bowl on Feb. 4.

Game is being played at Miami and televised by CBS. Eye endured a $550,000 fine by the FCC when Jackson's 2004 "Nipplegate" escapade turned into a national controversy.

Prince, a six-time Grammy winner and recently nominated for five more, is the third rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame member in a row to play the Super Bowl. Last year Mick Jagger sang at halftime and the year before that, Paul McCartney entertained the crowd and massive TV audience.

The Super Bowl is traditionally the highest-rated program of the year. Last season's game was viewed by 141 million people around the world.
